China's defense industry, silent presence

JgpBf3p.jpg

(defensa.com) From a communicative paucity bordering on pure secrecy, China's defense industry has, however, increased presence in major Latin American meetings industry. Beijing makes a significant effort to move its extensive range of products to events in the area, as this LAAD 2015. In the current issue, China has had its own pavilion, where he presented from rocket and satellite launch services systems portable anti-aircraft, through a wide range of warships.

For years, initially hand contracts signed between the governments of Caracas and Beijing, the Chinese material is coming strong in Latin America. Currently the Chinese delegations in the field of defense very active in this area of the planet, setting goals in his last done with the expected demand for naval patrol vessels requiring Uruguay and no less notorious approaches to Argentina, and that only between the last notable actions.

If we start with the aerospace field, for which China has created the company CALT (China Academy of Launch Vehicles) in LAAD we have seen a large stand with five models, certainly of very large proportions of its entire range of satellite launchers modules and the booming Chinese space exploration program. In the field of missiles Company CASIC (China Aerospace Science & Industry Corporation) also exhibits models of its wide range of missiles. So the antiship shows the veteran C-602, and the most modern and small C-705 and C-802A. In the field of anti-aircraft systems FK-3 FK-1000 and FD-2000, appointed exposed very inspired latter in the Russian S-300, emphasizing that talk always of equipment mounted on trucks to ensure mobility and survival.

Other products we've seen is the system of ground-ground missile B611M, throwing missiles with a blunt warhead of 480 kg., Which can be both conventional and nuclear, is also a point defense FL3000N exhibited outwardly very similar to Raytheon RIM-116A.

You finally have your space radar SmartHunter TH-S711, which enables portable systems integrate radar missile defenses, as well as increase their effectiveness by making exploration of potential targets. In the naval field CSOC company (China Shipbuilding & Offshore International Company), showing its wide range of warships, including a model of a LHD, and Chinese aircraft carrier Liaoning, among others.

In the field of military electronics, CEIEC (China National Electronics Import & Export Corp) exposes its various equipment solutions Electronic Warfare and surveillance.

Has there been any history of reliability problems with the Z-9? I have not heard of any.

The Harbin Z-9 has been produced in China since the early 1980s...first for the Army and then later, beginning in the 1990s for the Navy.

Seems like the design is very stable and mature so a debate about its reliability seems misplaced to me...unless there have been reliability issues before which I am unaware of.

Since these are new to Cameroon, I think it much more likely to be either related to conditions at the time, or pilot/training/experience related.

The only other reported accident happened in Cambodia and it was blamed on the pilot.

The crash in Cambodia was definitely blamed on the pilot. Someone took this video of the crash but only released days after the accident. The helicopter was taking off from flat ground (with ground effect?) and then flew over a big deep quarry. I think this took the helo out of ground effect and led to the crash.

Not real a military sale, but.......

A Chinese company will build the new Brazilian Antarctic base for nearly 100 million dollars

WI98rt6.jpg

(Defensa.com) has officially published the award of the Command of the Navy for the construction of the new Brazilian Antarctic base to the Chinese company CEIEC amounting to 99.6 million dollars, announcement by Defense Minister Jaques Wagner .

The Chinese company made the lowest bid (99,662,426.45) versus other two who had a Finnish company for 104.8 million dollars and a group of Chilean and Brazilian companies valued at 110.4 million dollars.

The fact that this contract was originally bid only for Brazilian companies but desert was given. But the decision now announced will allow rebuilding scientific and military base called "Comandante Ferraz" which was destroyed by approximately 70% after it suffered a fire in 2012 that claimed the death of two officers of the Brazilian Navy.

They remained intact only shelters (isolated modules for emergencies), laboratories meteorology, chemistry and studies of the upper atmosphere, fuel tanks two processing modules freshwater, radio station and emergency helipad, and were sites that were isolated from the main structure.
