A 'biplane' (or biplane-like) VTOL UAV developed by the Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics.

It's electrically driven, weighs 50kg, and has a payload capacity of 18kg and endurance of four hours. It can operate at temperatures as low as -40°C and in level 7 winds (presumably Beaufort scale).

It has 8 hour endurance. Just 100kg class drone with 15 kg payload

Carries E/O payload for night/day wide area surveillance

Seems like something the coast guard could use for now

But longer term, having a bunch of this around, that's cheap and having long endurance can provide more complete coverage for ASW, I would imagine.
Given said drones have been used by the CCG for anti-smuggling operations, this should also present the potential for the PLAN and MM to use upgraded, militarized versions of these shipborne drones to conduct round-the-clock patrols around coastal infrastructures, coastal military installations and moored warships against potential enemy intel-gathering, target-lazing and raid/sabotage attempts.

Two more, by @沉默的山羊 on Weibo.

Additional information - The UAV is also capable of operating normally at altitudes as high as 5500 meters.

The landing legs are rather skinny, lol.

Judging by the stats, could be useful in the Tibetan Plateau and the Himalayas.

Typical sub-cloud UAV as they call it in Europe. IMO bit too small for anything other than sea policing. ASW or wartime ISR would require something heavier than a ton.

Does anyone recognize the UAV in the foreground of the 1st image? That's an interesting shrouded propeller at the base. It appears to feature a set of black propeller blades not directly attached to the drone, which has its own separate (wooden) propeller. I wonder if the shrouded propellers provide vertical lift only and are detached from the drone once it achieves level flight.

You mean the black thing below the duct for the wooden propeller? Thats a vane for thrust vectoring when the craft is vertically taking off. It will act as elevation and yaw control in level flight mode.
