I find it funny that they are trying to list all these civilian usage cases, when something like W5000 will be able to do those same things so much more efficiently. This is clearly optimized for military purposes.

I wonder if this could also work out to be a better MPA or ASW aircraft. It can carry all sort of sonobuoys, dipping sonar, torpedoes, depth charge. You can try to stick a MAD sting (or something like that) at the back. It can also carry Anti-ship missiles and all sort of pods on the hardpoints.

If it can have 12 hour endurance (or even less than that), they can fly these things all around 1IC.

Interesting that the ferry range is supposedly only 7000km, implying the combat loaded range is significantly shorter still. I would've expected it to have longer than that. I suppose they could be understating it.

Heh! Just like that completely civilian yesirree Bob tilt-rotor that completely coincidentally automatically swivels its wing and folds its rotors so it can fit jsnugly into a Y20 or a ship's hangar.

Not sure how Jetank would use a dipping sonar though...

well, I was hoping for too much with that. Now that I think about it, 200 km/h is way too fast.

The promo video on the Jetank UAV is here.

The Jetank is (likely) powered by some kind of non-afterburning WS-9 variant.

Engine life: 8000 hours

Overhaul interval/MTBO: 3000 hours

this is definitely same lineage as WS-9. looks like it is newly developed from WS-9 with modern components for UAVs.. service life hours/MTBO is an eye opener.. this shows the level of modern CHINESE turbofan engines.

"Real time scanning and monitoring of cities"
"Emergency communications relay"

Are they doing this on purpose lol
My wild guess is that similar to how some other countries have adopted for example DEI or sustainable development goals into funding requirements, there exists a funding check box in China for networked/joint engagement, communications warfare etc.

That's why so many arms makers independently include the same goals into their projects. It's a scam/requirement for funding.

It also makes pragmatic sense since China is moving to a new city concept which will involve exploiting low altitude for full human use. Drones must coordinate well with other drones, or they won't be usable in a crowded environment.
