Chinese infantry fighting vehicles

By what I know, the Chinese netziens loved to brag about their 107mm rockets, that it's so compact it can do things what those small cannons were for back in the civil war days. IIRC, these rockets have vehiclar mobility decades ago, but they'd need a jeep for this, now having these 8x8 compact ATVs, heliborne and airborne troops can finally have artillery more mobile.

I guess, this could be comparable to the Wiesel system that the Germany have. Lightly armored, yet able to slightly heavier fire support

The windshield seems rather pointless to me. But what's below makes a lot of sense if it is the radar component for a mobile point air defense system.

Slightly different vehicle. The top pic with the "pointless" windshield probably had the canvass taken down that's why you don't see them. The two pics below had a hard top on. Notice the hinge on for the door attached to the windshield and the lack of the front rail rack.

The windshields make more sense if you look at the Wiesel analogy. It's a famous pasttime of (German) Wiesel drivers to run over small trees until their vehicle is fataly damaged. Norway is the ideal training ground for that sport. Such a windshield comes in handy if you go through thick undergrowth and lots of small trees with such a vehicle. Part of the Wiesel is the installation of missile systems. Are they also integrated into the Chinese version?

That wind screen seem unlikely to afford much protection against running into small trees. But the vehicle seems amphibious and the wind screen might keep the occupants less wet.

True, but did you noticed that the second vehicle on the back didn't have a windshield at all?

I called the windshield pointless in that particular instance since water and whatever else can still hit the occupants from every other angle, it does provide some ride comfort but at the same time gets in the way of firing weapons. The enclosed cab makes sense to protect from the elements but certainly limits firing angles and visibility. When used as a combat transport might as well do away with any windshield, cab, or canvas.

I don't think the Wiesel is a good comparison since it is both armored and tracked while this thing is neither. Which I think actually makes more sense since minimal armor only creates a false sense of security.

I agreed, but I think the windshield is there not just to prevent water splashing at the driver and occupants, think about desert dust storm, heavy snow storm, and mud splashing can be an annoyance for the driver.
