99A is a fine tank, tier 1 even. Can't say the same to JV brands.
Well, modern war fair doesn’t develop in a straight line manner. I personally think it’s a good thing if a country has the resources, then it’s good for that country to develop brand new technology or even think outside the box while still operating the current “tier 1” weaponry. It’s quite logical.

It was good for its projected role, which was to fight waves of Soviet/NATO armor defensively in Mongolia or Korean peninsula.

Since then, Chinese priorities changed a lot. Today, the largest security threat is a resurgent US-Japan Axis. Japan is an island nation and US has many global occupations that all need to be hit. The new generation of tanks/ifv should be easily transported and strong in achieving breakthroughs. It should be easily retrieved even in poor road conditions if it suffers breakdown or mobility kill.

It is astonishing really. In a good way of course. Chinese tanks ascended past "among best" into "world leader", like its EV.

An unknown AFV. Judging from the blue paint and the cover over the driver, this could be an amphibious IFV for the Navy, possibly the successor to ZBD-05.
