6 wheeled is odd choice , wheeled ifv/apc over the last decade for the most part got heavier not lighterThis looks like the successor to WZ-551.

It's not necessarily intended for frontline military use. The PAP, for example, could use a replacement for the venerable WZ-551. It might also be marketed to customers in Africa.
Seems like the result is VN22. I wonder if PLA will adopt it as well.This looks like the successor to WZ-551.

Couldn't they just take the 8x8 they made like the type 08 or the new type 19 and then make 6x6, 4x4, 10x10, tracked or 12x12 (I am not sure that will exist) versions.This looks like the successor to WZ-551.
