Read some of the comments in this thread, other members have already stated the capabilities of the 8FT HTT compared to the JF12.Really? How much higher? Is there a creditable source for the claim?
NASA's website states that the 8FT HTT can handle speeds up to Mach 7 and temperatures up to 2000 degrees Celsius. Terran already posted this in the previous page.
An interview with researchers working on the JF12 reviewed that it can handle speeds up to Mach 9 and temperatures up to 3500 degrees Celsius; a whole two Mach numbers and 1500 kelvins higher than the HTT. I don't know how you missed no_name's post on this either.
