Does anyone know any Chinese war movies with similar effects like "saving private ryan", or "assembly". I was kinda thrown off by the battle of Changjin lake because of the overuse of CGI, and it kind of played into the stereotype of human waves overwhelming bullets. Looking for something "tactical"

Some new trailers and gameplay on the Black Myth Wukong game and my god it's so good-looking. I really do think this and along with the 2 Tencent AAA games that are coming soon, will jump boost Chinese games in the future to match foreign products in terms of quality.

Seriously, you guys have to watch this cutscene, it's like literally straight out of some of the best Chinese films and shows in terms of quality.

The future for Chinese games looks very bright.

Excellent dialog and voice acting. Facial expression and hands look a bit stiff. The game atmosphere and some of the gameplay elements remind me of Eastern Exorcist.

In case anyone is wondering, according to some explanations, the old woman is Chang'e turned spider demoness, and the groom is supposedly Bajie, except he's probably a fake one.

Look up 集结号, probably the best chinese war film I've seen to date.
More historical action + drama, and does not go over the top

That director should have been involved with the making of the battle at lake Chiangjin... Assembly was a tour de force of a movie, the acting was superb and the horrors of War was laid to bare in all it's glory along with death, and destruction.

There's still no good movie on Zhenghe or the Opium War. Even the Koreans have done better historical movies than China. I guess it will take another one or two decades for China to get gud at producing historical movies (before 1900). All the good Chinese historical movies are set in mid 1900s.

I would also like to see a movie about rise and fall of Mongol Empire. Maybe including a steamy one where a Mongol beefcake has steamy fun with a Hungarian girl when the Mongol horde invaded Hungary :p

Like this Korean movie, The Servant (2010)

its about priorities. Quality of Chinese cinema keep growing and growing.

Red Cliff is my favorite Chinese historical movie. and one of the best movie based on history. you know, 2 and half hour can't justify a historical event especially on Chinese history.

try Chinese historical series/dramas. from Qin to Han to Tang , song and Ming dynasties. there are so many series available on YouTube with English subtitle. go to
