According to AECC's official Weibo page, it has recently flight tested a demonstrator/prototype of a 100kW hybrid power system.

Any explanation on how this engine works?

Development of Chinese engine to make C919 truly home-grown ‘progressing well’

Aviation forum hears that engine’s performance in trial runs exceeds ‘most optimistic expectations’

The development of a home-grown turbofan engine for China’s C919 narrowbody passenger jet has been “progressing well” in recent trials, experts and top executives from Aero Engine Corporation of China (AECC) told an aviation forum.

is in trial runs and it fared better than my most optimistic expectations,” Shi Jianzhong, honorary president of the Shanghai Society of Aeronautics and a former deputy general manager of Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (Comac), the C919’s manufacturer, said at the forum in Taicang, Jiangsu province.
Amid a battle with the West for technological supremacy, Shi said on Thursday that “the engine’s success will exemplify China’s supply chain resilience”.

The high-bypass engine, the first of its kind to be produced in China, is designed to be a domestic alternative to the state-of-the-art Leap engine that Comac currently imports from CFM International – a joint venture between America’s GE Aerospace and France’s Safran.

Wu Guowei, the deputy general manager of AECC Chengdu Engine, confirmed to the Post that the CJ-1000 would be able to power a C919 on verification flights “soon”, following tests on the

Pictures have been circulating on Chinese social media since 2023 showing the CJ-1000 on a Y-20 test bed.

"[...]China’s first domestically developed medium-speed marine engine with a high methanol fuel substitution rate was successfully delivered in Shanghai recently, marking a new phase in the industrial application of methanol-powered technology in the country.
This medium-speed engine has a cylinder diameter of 210 mm and a rated power of 1,000 kW. By using green methanol, it can reduce carbon emissions by more than 5,000 tons annually, while nitrogen oxide and sulfur oxide emissions decrease by 60% and up to 99%, respectively.
The promotion of this technology is a significant step in advancing the development of a "green industrial chain" for shipping.[....]"

You should post this in the Chinese Marine Engine thread instead of here.

are these stats on the wikipedia page for the AL-51 accurate? As in, does Russia measure weight using the same standard as China, or is it another F-119 situation where the twr is a lot lower than we thought cuz of different weighting standards?

... it's Wikipedia.

Look, it's right to not immediately undermine a source, so you could check its citations (which seems to be... Nothing).

No. In fact, they're infamous for including as little auxiliaries as possible. Refer to this:

Probably.

Does the ws-15 actually have a max twr of 10+ while the F119 has a max twr of only 7? That's a pretty big difference. Then again F119 was made in the 80s
We don't know.

What I gathered, which may be false, is that the WS-15's TWR is 9+ with GJB, but not 10. However, it is around or more than 11 using F119/RU engines' little calculation trick.

I actually expect the WS-19 instead to have a full 10+ TWR with GJB.
