A close look at this FWS-10A seems to indicate that the afterburner/nozzle-feathers are of a slightly different design to the ones we've seen in Zhuhai before ... or am I wrong !??

If you recall,

These nozzle looks similar to the nozzle of exhibit at the Aviation museum along side that AL-31. They look a bit longer and have silvery color compared the Zhuhai 2008 exhibit which seem shorter and dark-grayish...

It does look different, but I have given up trying to figure out why there appears to be two WS10's

I think he meant two different variants of j-11, could it be one is the WS-10 the other WS-10a?

That doesn't sound like a very good idea. The WS-10a is proven to be more reliable than the WS-10 and ultimately neither are as mature as the AL-31. I've heard of J-11s flying with one WS-10a and one AL-31 but flying with one WS-10A and one WS-10 ...?

I'm thinking that people may be overinflating issues with the WS-10, despite the initial deficiencies the WS-10 may have vs. the AL-31 it would not surprise me though to see the final version be superior (including MTBF) to the improved AL-31s.

That was a few years back when the WS-10(A) was first flew on the J-11 testbed. You may be able to find the picture of it somewhere in this thread.
