Supply chain issues may not be related to problems with engine production. It could be a completely different issue. But as noted in the JF-17 thread, via my contacts I heard, the PAF has lots of issues with supply chain related to maintenance for the RD-93.
I know in some cases with other contracts there were issues with international payments to Russia. Without payment then Russia won't deliver of course. I am not saying this is the case with Pakistan but it happens.Supply chain issues may not be related to problems with engine production. It could be a completely different issue.
AES100 recently completed its icing testing recently.Mr. Yin Zeyong (尹泽勇), the chief designer of AES100 turboshaft, seen here next to his creation.
Pretty sure JF-17 use Russian engine. Nothing new this regard.Just as a thought: there might be a political side to this too. Historically, Russia has strong ties to India. Supplying Pakistan with defense technology has been a point of contention betwwen India and Russia in the past. This can be interpretated in several ways.
- The Pakistan might be happy to drive a small wedge between India & Russia by buying from Russia.
- Russia might be happy to demonstrate to India the danger of the current US-friendly course by supplying Pakistan.
Also:
- China might be willingly supportive of Russian Aerospace industry by handing them this export order.
P.S.: How to quote a post? I click in the "Quote" and it says "message added" and, well, no quote?
