I just realized one thing.

WS-10 was supposed to be J-10’s target engine. J-10 was first inducted in 2004 but WS-10 equipped J-10C didn’t enter service until 2020. It took 16 years for the J-10 to receive its target engine.

J-20, on the other hand, entered service in 2017. Looks like J-20B with WS-15 will be ready by 2025. This would mean that it took half the amount of time for the J-20 to receive its target engine than its predecessor.
That's 16 years delay, then about 8 years delay.

So for 6th gen, we're gonna se maybe at most 1-2 years delay or none at all?

this is the 2022 report card of Shenyang liming engine institute. Shenyang liming comes under AECC authority as a branch.

22 Billion RMB means 3.20 Billion USD. this is huge. from this year onward revenue likely to jump many folds as WS-20 production begun. WS-15 LRIP production started too.
