The Chinese paid more than $ 2.5 billion for the Ukrainian engine plant. But they will not be able to use the plant now. Apparently, it will not be possible to return the money either.

Who was sanctioned for three years:

Skyrizon Aircraft Holdings Limited, a company registered in the British Virgin Islands;

Hong Kong Skyrizon Holdings Limited, registered in Hong Kong, China;

Beijing Skyrizon Aviation Industry Investment Company, registered in Beijing, China;

Beijing Xinwei Technology Group Co., Ltd, registered in Beijing, China;

a citizen of China, Wang Jingwei (Wang Jing).

What they suggest:

Asset blocking;
restriction of trading operations;
ban on transit through the territory of Ukraine;
preventing the withdrawal of capital from Ukraine;
ban on transactions with securities;
the ban on changing the size of the authorized capital in Ukrainian companies in which the participants of the sanctions list own a share of ownership or influence the management and activities of such companies.
So 2.5 billion lost? Pretty bad

China has filed a lawsuit against Ukraine. And I was wrong. The amount is not 2.5, but 3.5 billion dollars.

Chinese investors of the Ukrainian company Motor Sich intend to recover $ 3.5 billion in damages from Ukraine. The Chinese claim that " ... the Ukrainian authorities have expropriated their investments by their behavior, as well as violated other rights provided for by the current agreement on the promotion and mutual protection of investments signed on October 31, 1992 between the Governments of Ukraine and China."

Should China not supply vaccines to Ukraine then?

It does but as you'd have read China just gave out an order for hundreds of al-222 engines to Ukraine for the L-15 Light trainer. But this could be explained away by saying that it is wasteful in resources and skill to develop and set up a AL-222 alternative in China.

Other engines include - D18T Turbofan as well as a veritable number of helicopter engines.
As for China requiring them, that's the question, don't you see? Why do China need it when it is presumably self sufficient.
Maybe it isn't self sufficient after all. To what extend China needs them are also a question.
Chinese Helicopter engine for the Z-10 (W-9) wasn't powerful enough when it debuted. That's a fact. There was also news about an upgraded WZ-9.
Maybe Motor Zich could help with Helicopter engines?
WZ-9 is already upgraded no need for Ukrainian help here we saw Z10 with upward exhaust that is tel tale sing of more powerful engine because directing hot exhaust to copter rotor reduce power.

Sometime it is question of economy China need the engine for trainer but they are not built in thousands so why invest time and effort for say 600 unit when you can buy the technology plus motor sich has more technology than just trainer jet engine

Ukraine must have strong support from US to expropriate investments from its largest trading partner. Security partnership almost always outclasses economic considerations. Trump gov has done well there to prevent China from acquiring this vital defense technology.

It was to be expected. I don't think it will impact helicopters at all since most Chinese helicopter designs aren't based on Soviet heritage but are instead licensed clones of western designs or their own technology with engines manufactured 100% in China.
What it might impact is the L-15 which just recently made a major order to Motor Sich. But if necessary that engine is also manufactured in Russia for the Yak-130 so I think in the long term the impact will be limited.

I expected this to happen given how the coup was sponsored by the US and the recent Ukrainian governments all bend the knee to the US.

Interesting that it happens now after Trump is no longer a POTUS

Well... If this news is true, then Biden is not surprising

Taiwan’s de facto ambassador to the US was formally invited to President Joe Biden’s inauguration in what Taipei said Thursday was a precedent-setting first since Washington switched recognition to Beijing in 1979.
