No offense intended, but I think you are interpreting what you want to believe. Notice in the sentence that follows, it is talks about incremental success and incremental progress. I don't think mass production starts without 100% success (success from their perspective).

Hey Maya, do you know what the new engine is, since WS-15 and the large bypass engine has gone to XAEC? And what's the gas turbine mentioned in there? QC-70, QC-185?

No.606 is SAERI--Shenyang AeroEngine Research Institute,the chief design institute for the FWS15 full-scale-development program. XAEC conducted trial-manufacturing of the CJ2000 demonstration core engines.

Yes, it maybe cheaper but success/significant of WS-10a far outweight profit.

By sub contracting out, u will have a hard time for quality control of your final product.

Might be an attempt to prop up failing SOEs, or even an attempt to improve the quality of manufacturing as a whole by distributing higher standard requirements.

It's not necessarily a bad thing. At the end of all this it may not only help improve the quality of subsidiaries (giving them valuable experience for further development), but may help teach China exactly how to enforce standards and regulations.

What are you talking about, ever heard of F-136? They actually subcontract to another country. Same with F-135 and I'm pretty sure if you do some research, you can find this to be true about most engines out there.

interesting. so SAERI seems to be the chief designer for all the major engine projects in China?
