The latest rumor (September 2019) claimed that J-20 is being tested with the newly integrated WS-15 turbofan engine.
So, AEF50E is a turbofan in the 500-kg-thrust-class from AVIC intended for export.AE means it's a product of AVIC, F stands for turbofan, S for turboshaft, P for turboprop, G for gas turbine, and multiply the number in the name by a factor of 10 to get its thrust or power. Letter E at the end stands for export
