Ähhhmm ... sorry, but can anyone help me out !

IMO so far the "Taishan" was the name for the WS-13, which is supposed to power the FC-1/JF-17.
But this engine seems related to the XXJ.

Can anyone help ?

I read a Pakistani defense article the other day and it claimed that Chengdu will use two WS-13s on its J-xx design. It also claimed that the engine was designed as a possible replacement for the RD-93.

Also I recall that the WS-13 is given the name, "TianShan (sky mountain)," which is distinct from, "Taishan (sun mountain)."

I think I've heard this before, but another article saying that China got the license production for AI-222 from the Ukrainians. And it will be produced by 608th institute, the one that produces helicopter engines.

AI-222-25发动机由608所和中国燃气涡轮研究院共同负责设计研制, 由成都发动机(集团)有限公司和南方航空动力机械公司的331厂共同生产. 全部采用自行编制的工艺资料和自己制造了大部分的工艺设备,只是进口了少量的专用设备. 在所有项目中,原则上608所和中国燃气涡轮研究院始终是各承担一半的研制工作量。

按发动机部件的具体的分工是:

608所重点研制 整体叶盘结构的风扇、低压涡轮(含材料为定向凝固高温合金的低压涡轮叶片) 、中介机匣及齿轮箱、附件传动、尾喷管、支撑结构、 发动机安装节.

中国燃气涡轮研究院负责研制系统设计一体化和轴流式高压压气机、带气动雾化喷咀的环形燃烧室、高压涡轮涡轮(含复合气冷定向凝固(结晶)无余量精铸的空心叶片)和刷式封严、还有燃油系统、全权数字电子控制系统.

发动机部件按分工制造然后运送到331厂, 在331厂设有一条总装配线最终完成组装.

AI-222-25发动机的国内生产型初步命名为"峨眉" 涡扇发动机.
(峨眉山海拔3099 米,位于四川西南部。它巍峨雄秀,群峰突起,古木参天,庙宇林立,既是全国四大佛教圣地之一,又是闻名中外的旅游胜地。峨眉山高峻美。唐代大诗人李白曾写诗赞道:"峨眉高出西极天。"在民间也流传着"四川有座峨眉山,离天只有三尺三"的说法。1997年2月,峨眉山被联合国教科文组织列入《世界自然与文化遗产目录》)

АИ-222-25系列发动机简介

由乌克兰伊夫琴科-进步设计局(Ивченко-Прогресс)研制,АИ-222-25为该系列的基本型号,已作为Як-130等教练机的动力装置。2004年4月30日首架批生产型Як-130在下诺夫哥罗德Sokol(索科尔)工厂首飞成功

АИ-222-25的设计是以АИ-22涡扇发动机的核心机为基础,后者的首台全尺寸发动机已于2000年9月25日完成组装并进行了台架试车,2002 年配装АИ-22发动机的Ту-324进行了试飞,因此АИ-222-25的研制进展相当快速,2002年进行3台架试验,至2003年全尺寸发动机首飞成功并取得了适航合格证。不过据该局网站介绍,发动机计划于明年上半年进行定型试验。

结构和系统
(АИ-222-25)

发动机采用单元体结构设计,提高了发动机使用维护性以及易于生产。

风扇 两级轴流式。风扇转子及盘片均由钛合金制造,整体叶盘结构(Blisk),直径624mm、流量49.4kg/s、涵道比1.18。

中介机匣 带中央锥传动装置?
高压压气机 八级轴流式,1~3级静叶可调。

燃烧室 环形 ,低污染设计,带16个气动雾化喷嘴,气膜冷却火焰筒
高压涡轮 单级轴流式 高效涡轮导向器,定向凝固高温合金叶片。

低压涡轮 单级轴流式 气冷导向叶片,材料为定向凝固高温合金。

尾喷管 简单收敛喷管。

支撑结构 共有5个主支点,高低压转子分别有2个和3个轴承支撑。

安装节 位于中介机匣和后部机匣。

控制系统 全权限数控系统(FADEC)具有监控及故障诊断功能。新型燃油系统体积小、重量轻。

Excellent progress for the L-15, hopefully at the next Zhuhai airshow then we can see the L-15 use its afterburners with the engine it was designed for. Unfortunately this will be more fodder for people who claim the L-15 is just a copy of the Yak-130

the mock up of unknown 95Kn TF engine was in fact mention in 2006 zhuhai airshow,the 95kn engine s currently being develop by no. 624 liming engine work,industrial designation is CJ-2000, official AF designation is WS-14. there plan to boost it to 120kn.may enter service around 2015.
aside from WS-14,no. 606 is developing 175kn TF engine designate as WS-15,to enter service 2018..also improve,a WS10,called WS10D is also being plan,total thrust to 155kn.

sounds to me like these engines aren't designed just for fighters anymore, with that kind of thrust you can run onto large transport aircrafts, heavey bombers, commercial aircrafts. interesting how the their is a skip in designation for the WS-10 series. from WS-10 to WS-10A to WS-10D. with that kind of thrust if installed on the J-10 its thrust to weight ratio will be one of the highest in modern military.

I saw on Al Jazera TV on the latest Western Technology for new generation Jet Engines. One of them had counter rotating fans like that Russian plane that had counter rotating props. I missed most of the program but has anyone heard of that engine?

I just registered here so I am not sure if this has been discussed already. From what I understand though, the WS-10a was certified for production in 2006 and this photo of it it in 2006 it has 15 frontal "blades."

But at the 2008 Zhuhai air show the engine shown has 17 frontal "blades."

My question is why would China announce that the engine was certified in early 2006 and then change the design?

From my experience of product development and manufacturing - little design changes tend to be almost on going to either solve minor problems not discovered at initial design approval/certification or improve manufacturing in some way or the change in a supplier of a subcomponent.

If you are saying the top photo (16 blades) was shown at certification, that could have been the prototype. So, while they showed the 16 blade proto (???) they possibly could already have decided that the production version will have 17 blades.

it's talking about a new major engine project at shenyang liming.
it looks like a prototype is coming out.

So, they are basically saying that it is most likely WS-15, but could be the large bypass turbofan engine.

Basically saying that a project for a large bypass engine with thrust of 3200 kg started in Shenyang Liming, probably for some kind of long endurance UAV.
