To be fair, Franco-American relationship isn't on par with that of Great Britain or Canada. Remember the Freedom Fries fiasco?

Looks like the WS-20 is a much bigger engine. Not sure if it is for Y-20 or for future C919 airliner.Russians talked to much, pushed China to do it themself
We already know it's for the y-20.
But could it also have a civilian purpose? Say for C919?

Maybe, but there is a plan by AVIC to develop a CFM Leap-1 like engine called CJ-1000.
A military version of C919 might well use a version of the WS20 if it is of the right size. No need to be talking about it just now of course.
