RCEP is an extremely important trade treaty for China, considering that Biden might revive TPP:

There should be an embargo on any Indian requests for investment from the AIIB through to the RCEP and any institution that China holds sway, until the Indians stop trying to be white and anglo and realise who their real allies and friends are. Until then, they should be blackballed until compliance.

thediplomat.com article about china´s fifth plenum goals. For those who know about the economic reality of china, what do you think of it?

1. The guy who wrote the article got the general broad strokes right, that that was the direction the CCP wants to go with certain parts of the economy, but he seems to not understand why they want to do that.

2. The thediplomat.com is a Japanese funded anti-China website, which specializes in Gordan Chang types of articles. This was a clear example of that. No one knows how these plans would work out, but the writer certainly does. If the writer was that smart, and could tell the future with that type of certainty, he would not write articles, he would just bet his own money and right all the the time and be rich as anything. There is no credibility to his predictions.

3. He does not even understand how important urbanization is, as urban centers are the primary driver of grow in technologically advanced societies. That was the CCP plan for decades and they continue along with it. Somehow, that the CCP would pay attention to urbanization, and technological advancement, that will lead to failure. Like duh, what are they suppose to emphasize? Trade wars? LOL.

4. Conclusion, typical hit piece. Do not waste too much time on thediplomat.com, especially your own and get mislead, pointed to the other direction where Gordan Chang leads the way to the future.

Hi ansy1968,

I still refuse to read anything from thediplomat.com anymore.

When it first came out, I did surf there, but one day, everything sounded Japanese, and I never returned.

I did come across Blitzo articles there once or twice, but my feeling is the best stuff from Blitzo are still here in these forums, so still no reason to visit that site.

If I need a disinformation fix, that is where I might go, along with Clinton News Network and Faux News.

:D

Hi horse,

Sometimes you need a good laugh to start your day, I mostly browse article regarding China and always found an Indian author commenting /writing opinion on Chinese affairs, I mean what the Fxxk did he know about China. The Indian had a style of writing that is easily identifiable.

Why would the Japanese hire an Indian writer? Is it because the Indians have superior English writing skills?

Because they don't misspell the L word with R  :D casting aside this corny joke....;) , when you read an article written by a Western correspond on China the style is direct with a certain/ full bias depending on what their agenda is. The Indian style is like a long epic storyline that sometime divert from main topic and always had a comparison to justify their cause.

This Article says that the US Total GDP is overstated by 15%. US GDP is actually on USD$17 Trillion compared to China's GDP at USD$15 Trillion.

Projects that China's economy will be larger than the US in Nominal GDP Terms by 2023.

Looks like the US Economy will very soon be overshadowed by China's Economy.

No wonder Trump and his Gang is using all the dirty tricks to slow China down.

Are there any mainstream US-based pundits claiming that the US is faking its GDP to the upside by including "imputed rent" as stated in this article? Remember that China is under-estimating its GDP by excluding a lot of rental stuff.

If one goes by IMF's definition of GDP as "GDP measures the monetary value of final goods and services—that are bought by the final user—produced in a country in a given period of time (say a quarter or a year).", then yes the U.S. is overestimating its GDP by including imputations, because homeowners don't buy their own home every month as a rental service. And why stops at imputed rents? Let's also include stay-at-home parents and people taking care of their aging parents.
