There also needs to be focus on communicating the truth, more and better. Otherwise how can the falsehoods and prejudices be identified?

It is not easy as that. So long the western news agency has monopoly on news service the like of AFP, Reuter, AP,Bloomberg Aljazeera where most of the world newspaper get their feed on the world news
It is hard to rebut those fake news. They have near monopoly on news feed. China did start to change this false perception by setting up the World CCTV. Xinhua, People daily etc But it will take some time and need more sophistication to soft sell the message

Democracy a wonderful chant by those who haven't fully understood humanity. One size does NOT fit all. It is democracy or the lack there of, that bore the systematic culling of one of the largest Middle Class populations in the West, 2008 modern great depression. It also is democracy or the lack of it in the West that brought about the horrid destruction of Iraq, total dismemberment of Libya (limb from limb), a 16 years of carnage, death and destruction in Afghanistan, Syria being reduced to rubble facing a blood stained Balkanization and Yemen is burning in the wake of Western backed sadistic, crazed Wahhabi Saudi elite.

The West seems to delude itself into thinking that it's ideals, must be adopted by others. When they are rejected and thrown out the door by nations. It is then when covert means are deployed to ensure that that society is transformed into carbon copies of themselves. By any means necessary, and history is littered with their "fine examples" of freedom, justice and liberty for all!!

The Chinese analyst is correct in what he says, democracy is not something that China needs or will ever want. Not a 100 years from now, nor in a 1000 years. Because China has observed the fruits of democracy take shape over these many decades. One that stands above all, is the ability of a democratic America cannibalize itself with $21 trillion in Nation Debt. A debt which will not be able to pay off, for the next 10000 years. This is most glaring reality of what Democracy and it's illegitimate child, Capitalism have achieved in the 20th & 21st Centuries!!

China is confident of fully forestalling systemic risks, the country's financial minister said here Wednesday, voicing firm stance on debt control.

The country's debt-to-

ratio has decreased to 36.2 percent by the end of 2017 from 36.7 percent in 2016, far below the international alert line of 60 percent, Finance Minister Xiao Jie said at a press conference on the sidelines of the annual parliamentary session.

The ratio is also relatively low compared with the levels of major economies and emerging countries, said Xiao, who expects "no significant change" in the ratio in coming years.

By the end of last year, combined debt of central and local governments in China stood at 29.95 trillion yuan (about 4.75 trillion U.S. dollars), of which 16.47 trillion yuan belonged to the local governments, according to the minister.

The Chinese government pays high attention to the management of government debt and is firm in cracking down on irregularities in financing activities, he said.

With a new budget law and a number of follow-up measures in place, the government has established a closed-loop system that covers quota management, budget management, risk early warning, emergency response and daily oversight.

Nearly 100 people had been held responsible for misconduct and irregularities related to local government debt in 2017 as the country strengthens efforts to defuse financial risks, according to Xiao.

To forestall and defuse major risks has been listed as one of the country's "three tough battles" for the next three years, along with targeted poverty alleviation, and pollution prevention and control.

China Focus: More foreign films to hit cinemas in March

After a sales surge in February, the Chinese box office is expected to continue its momentum in March, boosted by the release of multiple high-quality imported films.

One of the most anticipated blockbusters is "Black Panther," Marvel Studios' latest superhero film. Directed by Ryan Coogler, the film stars Chadwick Boseman as T'Challa/Black Panther who returns home as king of Wakanda but finds his sovereignty challenged by a long-time adversary in a conflict with global consequences.

"Black Panther" will be shown on the Chinese mainland starting March 9. On Maoyan, a popular film database in China, more than 200,000 users have expressed their desire to see the 18th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Marvel's last film, "Thor: Ragnarok" grossed more than 700 million yuan (about 110 million US dollar) on the mainland.

"Pacific Rim: Uprising" will hit the screens on the mainland on March 23. Hoping to ride the momentum of the 2013 film "Pacific Rim," which raked in nearly 700 million yuan on the mainland, the sequel features Chinese actress Jing Tian in a leading role. Several other Chinese faces can also be seen in the sci-fi blockbuster.

"Tomb Raider," the new Lara Croft film will arrive in Chinese cinemas on March 16. Despite its brand recognition, the film may not have as large a fanbase as Marvel and the Pacific Rim series do in China. However, Chinese-American film star Daniel Wu's participation may help boost its popularity in China.

While Hollywood big-budget action films may continue to accelerate the box office boom in China, Chinese moviegoers will also have a chance to see some of this year's Oscar contenders.

"The Shape of Water" will be shown on Chinese screens starting March 16. The fantasy film has garnered a total of 13 Oscar nominations, topping the prediction lists of many media organizations.

"Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri" hit the Chinese screens Friday. Seen by many as the most possible winner in this year's Oscar Best Picture race, the film had pocketed nearly 10 million yuan in China as of Sunday. Despite moderate box office performance, it has been greeted with critical praise. On Douban, China's leading film rating platform, "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri" scored 8.7 out of 10 points, based on more than 100,000 moviegoer reviews.

Chinese moviegoers are being offered diverse choices, as films from other Asian countries are also scheduled for March.

Indian film "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" starring Salman Khan has earned more than 40 million yuan since its release on Friday. It scored 8.6 points on Douban.

Japanese comedy "Mix" will arrive in Chinese cinemas on March 9. Japanese actress Yui Aragaki enjoys tremendous online popularity in China. Her role in the film may attract a considerable number of Chinese moviegoers.

March is likely to see a major comeback for imported films in the Chinese market in terms of sales and word of mouth, but they will still be challenged by some of the phenomenal domestic productions.

Two weeks into the screening, "Operation Red Sea" is still delivering strong performances, raking in nearly 140 million yuan on Saturday.

According to statistics released by the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television, China's box office sales hit a record high of 10.14 billion yuan (about 1.6 billion dollars) in February.

The figure surpassed the previous world record for the highest monthly box office sales in a single market of 1.39 billion dollars, set by the North American market in July 2011.

China’s gross domestic product is forecast to reach about $13.2 trillion in 2018, beating the $12.8 trillion combined total of the 19 countries that use the euro, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. “The impact of China on global financial markets and commodities is no longer trivial. But its economic size also brings economic tensions in terms of market share competition in trade and investment,” as well as foreign policy tensions, said Rob Subbaraman, head of emerging market economics at Nomura Holdings Inc. in Singapore.

Democracy a wonderful chant by those who haven't fully understood humanity.
There is only one democracy , in Switzerland, everywhere else it is just diferent level of smoke and mirrors creating the illusion about that the people has a choice.

But interestingly, Switzerland is one of the most wealthy country, not part of any deffense organisation , and not part of any trade block.

In Switzerland it is forbidden to send any military personal abroad, or for any swiss national to conduct military serivceoutside of the country : )

If the people has a choice then they don't want any military adventure outside of the coutnry.
That is the hobby of the politicians.
