I do think they are illness and it IS a set of measure, and they are Not the same. I mean those ecnomists created a new concept to make it looks like a 'new' one. :) Do you know traditionally for a CP, what should he do to handle a ecnomic crisis?;)

Politicians across many if not all nations use moderate terms or even new and more PR friendly phrases to describe crises, and solutions to crises, and policy initiatives all the time, this is hardly unique to China.

None of the Japanese companies seized the initiative, or made a meaningful dent in the market share thereafter. I don't think any of the Japanese brands ever made it to the top 3 or 4 placings in the aggregate world market share. Panasonic was the king of the cordless phone segment, but made a feeble stab at the cellphone market. I think they did quite well in the rugged portable computer segment, but it was a niche market.

Sony Ericcson, even with their merged operations, still can't break past the Chinese placings, much less Samsung and Apple. There is not much they could offer in terms of specifications that are better than the Chinese brands.

I think they must have had a brain freeze because right from the Get Go their cell phone system had compatibility issues with that of other counties.

Im a little hazy on this, but I think sometime between 2008-11 didnt China to lessen the requirement to pay royalties,by trying to have a indiginous CD DVD system? I dont know if it got much traction.

No we don't grow kumuras, we are dry stock and dairyfarmers.
Unless you were thinking that we used a digester unit as part og the Bio Fuel generating plant.

I am only talking through an "European" lens, so ignorant of me. :p Sony and Philips were big 10 years ago. Sony laptop was one of the top brand 10 years ago, but I don't find any more. Instead, Lenovo is everywhere. Sony is not the old Sony anymore. Yesterday, I found TCL TV demo station in a home electronic chain shop, next to Samsung, a first time of Chinese brand getting into this part of Europe.

It is my first time knowing Westinghouse makes home appliances. Here, "no bragging intended", wash machines are Bosch, Siemens, Elextrolux, some times maybe Samsung or Haier.

Its a pretty well know name in the domestic home appliance market in the first half of the 20th century.
Since then the brand has since been owned by others. I could be wrong in thinking that a Japanese company/Toshiba once owned it

Yeah, indeed!
We cannot say Marx was wrong. So we apply 'Supplier-side structural reform' instead of saying 'applying Keynesian measures in the following decades'.

'Economic crisis' is a general term. 'Over Production' is a lot more specific. China is not beholden to use Western economic terms.

I know, but they are taboos in CP ruled countries because Marx said they were intrinsic characters of capitalist countries and could have been solved well in a socialist country.;) We all know these and try to solve the problem without challenging Marx. If a new concept can help, why not?

I think trying to make the case that the Chinese government are somehow afraid of crossing taboo terms that are part of a traditional socialist economy became a bit ridiculous the moment they began using the word "market" in their economic policies.

China's economic policies are universal but tailored to suit itself, other than the central planning system. It is already common knowledge that it is more capitalist than the US in some aspects. So who cares about the pedantics anymore? Not the economists and pragmatists.
