JD.com is planning to buy 200 Billion yuan of goods originally made for export (to USA) over the next 1 year, and channel them into China's domestic market.

Alibaba.com and other online sales platform also have similar plans to support Chinese manufacturers.

News from Global Business/ CGTN 4PM Beijing time, today.

They just need to print more money so that the people can buy local products. They need to channel the money to the right people.

Looking at strong retails sales from Mar, just give even more direct vouchers or cash plus child benefits to lower and middle class in China and the retail sales will drive the whole growth lost by no export to USA. USA won't be needed for anything anymore.

@broadsword sir I don't know who formulated the tourism subsidies program in China But it was one heck of a plan and the guy who planned it should be given a raise and promotion.

It had kill three birds with one stone.

1) it stimulate the local economy

2) it promote China soft power

3) debunking the western narrative

From what I've experienced, those discriminating Travellers had kept quite and keep rejoining the China tour, okay price is one of the determining Factor BUT the vibrancy of Chinese culture and way of life is what keep them coming back, especially after tasting Chagee milk tea and Luckin coffee and experiencing the night market.
