US ITC clears Huawei, others in InterDigital patent dispute

(Reuters) - The U.S. International Trade Commission found that Huawei Technologies, Nokia Corp and ZTE Corp did not infringe cell phone patents owned by InterDigital Inc.

InterDigital, a wireless research and development company, had accused the companies of violating seven patents used to make 3G wireless devices. It has asked the ITC to ban the U.S. sales of the three companies' 3G mobile devices.

William Merritt, the chief executive of InterDigital, said in a statement about the final ruling on Thursday, "Today's determination by the ITC is extremely disappointing. We believe the commission's claim constructions are plainly wrong, and we look forward to appealing the determination."

Meanwhile InterDigital is under investigation by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) in China for violating Chinese antimonopoly law. The NDRC said it launched the investigation because of InterDigital's complaint to the US ITC.

Has anyone ever tried this fruit?

I saw this article last night and they changed the title. I wonder if it was because it sounded like a sexual innuendo. It was something like "Chinese monk's fruit sweet substitute."

Supposed to be a new type of artificial sweetner that's suppose to be more natural. It's a big deal for diet soda makers.

It is lo han quo. It will taste great with fizz added. But I will worry what the demand will mean for the TCM consumers in terms of inflation.

I think it is just you.

There is a Beijing-harbin HSR line(of which this Beijing-shenyang line is a part of) under construction but nothing about a shanghai-harbin line under construction let alone in operation.
If it did exist why would they build another Beijing-shenyang line, that would be an immense waste of resources...

Zhongling Hangke New Energy to acquire 20% of Reg Technologies; proceeds supporting RadMax demo rotary engine
30 December 2013

Reg Technologies Inc., developer of axial vane rotary engine technology (earlier post), has entered into a subscription agreement with an affiliated company of HK Zhongling Hangke New Energy Investment Holding Group Limited for a C$1,188,000 (US$1,116,000) private placement under which Zhongling will purchase up to 9,900,000 units of Reg Tech priced at C$0.12 per unit, with each unit consisting of one common share of Reg Tech and one warrant, with each warrant exercisable for three years at C$0.15 for one common share. When the private placement is completed, Zhongling would own 19.98% of Reg Tech’s common shares.

Net proceeds of approximately $1,158,000 from this private placement will be used for assembly and testing costs of the RadMax Demonstration Model, accounts payable, including intercompany payables and redemption of a promissory note to a related party, and working capital purposes.

At the closing Reg Tech. agrees to obtain the resignation from two of its directors, and to appoint two new directors from Zhongling.

Reg Technologies Inc. and REGI U.S., Inc. are developing for commercialization an improved axial vane type rotary engine known as the Rand Cam/RadMax. The RadMax engine has only two unique moving parts, the vanes (up to 12) and the rotor, compared to the 40 moving parts in a simple four-cylinder piston engine.

This design makes it possible to produce up to 24 continuous power impulses per one rotation that is vibration-free and extremely quiet.

The RadMax engine also has multitude capabilities allowing it to operate on fuels including gasoline, natural gas, hydrogen, propane and diesel.

Zhongling Hangke New Energy Investment Holding Group Limited, a Hong Kong private company, is involved in the research and development of new energy solutions. The company has five core magnetic power new energy technologies and more than 200 independent research and development programs resulting in core patents, ranging from high-power magnetic motor technologies, fuel efficiency technologies and automatic battery packs.

[q]The new trains between Shanghai and Harbin will stop in Suzhou, Wuxi, Changzhou, Nanjing, Xuzhou, Jinan, Tianjin, Shenyang and Changchun.[/q]

Remember, a rail net is not topological, and routing matters rather than just looking at the cities at the end points. The Harbin-Shanghai line and the Beijing-Shenyang line is not in conflict per se, as the former doesn't pass Beijing. As for whether it is a waste of resources, you can't really say without looking at the actual route, freight capacity, speed and what they were intended to serve.
