The bukkake effect
I like the end quote of GT: “we should not underestimate the competition from Vietnam. China still needs to continuously improve the market environment to attract and retain foreign investment. It is also essential for China to strengthen the manufacturing complementary relationship with Vietnam.”

Germany has a trade deficit as well now.

Japan and German (and their people, of course) are very resilient and high IQ countries. They will find their ways out of maladies. To hope for Japan's economy to reach "destroyed" stage is...a bit surreal. Don't forget, they could weather through stagflation for umpteenth years and yet remain as one of the world's strongest economies during these times. Yes, living on past glories but it only shows the degree of industrial foundations they have built during their glorious years which are enough to keep them as one of the world's top economies despite going through stagflation in the recent decades. They have also managed to keep themselves organized as a nation - no serious deterioration in living standards, no social issues. There's certainly a lot of depth in such group of people.

Japan's toast. They're still using fax machines. China will surpass them as the biggest auto export country this year or next. Close to 20% of Japan's gdp is related to their auto industry. They are going to get punished for betting on hydrogen instead of battery in the transition to EVs. They've had a trade deficit for 10 months straight now. Yet they are looking to increase their military spending.

We need Putin to turn off that gas now and end their misery.

@ht1688 bro definitely to cover inflation...lol ABE gamble to cozy up with the US to unleash the leash had backfired, instead the American tighten it more that it's suffocating the Japanese. It's admirable how the Japanese accept those incremental pain thrown to them by the Americans, they should know that they will be never be forgiven for their attack on Pearl Harbor.
