The market is a lot less capitalized but it is accessible to Western investors.

People assume newer mutations of virus will always be weaker and cause less fatalities but there is no reason for this to be the case.

Could it be? Sure. Mutations can often be random, but even if it were stronger, more lethal then it would be likely be less transmissible because killing its host would make it be more difficult to propagate and more easily detectable. Viruses are not intelligent things that want to kill life, its just that their reproduction that can have deleterious side effects to organisms.

I bet most of this "FDI" is Chinese billionaires who see the writing on the wall after the witch hunt on their Russian brethren and are pulling their money back into China. This will supercharge China's investments on technological independence from the West.
