The Chinese are more pragmatic unlike the US who cries out they'll break dependency but don't.
How do you know what China will or won't choose to do in the future? Do you have a crystal ball? Are you in daily consultation with President Xi?

I've never seen China claim they don't need anyone but everyone needs them. That's what Americans arrogantly do. China has plenty of weapons it can use on the US. Like I mentioned before China can kill US rare earth production and China will still be making money from the US.
Given that the USA has already lost the trade war, does China actually need to play the rare earth card?

Well we will know during the next trade war or the next hot war...
I don't have to consult with President Xi to know that China can play the RE card. All it takes is common sense.
