China’s top businessman Zhong Shanshan on Thursday rose to become Asia’s richest man with a worth of nearly $77.8 billion.
According to Bloomberg assessment, Zhong, 66, a bottled water and vaccine tycoon, is the 11th richest person on the planet.
“It’s one of the fastest accumulations of wealth in history,” said the report as Zhong’s businesses surged from $70.9 billion to $77.8 billion this year.
He overtook India’s Mukesh Ambani whose worth surged to $76.9 billion.
Little know in outer world, Zhong, whose career spans journalism, mushroom farming and healthcare, in September rose to become China’s richest businessman after overtaking Chinese philanthropist and businessman Jack Ma by over $2billion.
The rare feat for a Chinese businessman comes amid a challenging year which saw global businesses badly hit due to the COVID-19 pandemic which has affected over 80 million people across the world and killed over 1.8 million people. It was first reported in China’s central Wuhan city in December 2019.
Headquartered in Hangzhou in China’s Zhejiang province, Zhong’s bottled water company Nongfu Spring Co is Hong Kong's most popular among retail investors. Zhong is popular as “lone wolf” in the business world.
A school dropout, Zhong worked as a construction worker, a newspaper reporter and a beverage sales agent before starting his own business.
Among his businesses is Beijing Wantai Biological Pharmacy. It started trading at the Shanghai Stock Exchange in April.
Before Ambani, Jack Ma was Asia’s richest man whose net worth has come down to $51.2 billion now.

I'll tell you guys what's impressive. Elon Musk started on the Forbes 2020 list at 24 billion. On Dec 31 2020, he ended off at 155 billion. This guy increased his fortune by 130 billion dollars in 12 months. He was outside the top 30, now he's solidly no 2. And at this rate, if there is no bubble popping, he's going to overtake Bezos at 190 billion dollars and become the first guy with 200 billion dollars.

Anyway yes I checked Forbes Real Time and Zhong Shanshan is indeed richest in China now. Man that guy overtook the two Horses. I wonder if he's going to hit 100 billion dollars selling mineral water lol. Colin Zheng of Pinduoduo has overtaken Jack Ma which caijinglangyan mentioned, which is fucking impressive. My personal favorite is Lei Jun, hope he becomes No 1. I also hope Wang Ning, that 33 year old dude who designed toys and became a billionaire from it, becomes filthy rich. Nothing is cooler than a toy designer becoming a super billionaire. Zhang Yiming needs to catch up, he's a poor billionaire with only 28 billion dollars LOL

Caijinglangyan mentioned that Colin Zheng intentionally sold stocks because he didn't want to overtake Jack Ma in wealth. The rich play games, the rest of us are picking at their crumbs @Gatekeeper

It just shows how they're the ones that want to takeover everything just like the past. There can be two separate technological paths. They're the ones that don't want to see that happen because they want to control and make all the money from new technologies. They're the ones that want to to force it on everyone else. The only way they can do that is to start conflict.
Makes sense that the descendants of those who had the Dark Ages want the rest of the world to go through a technological dark age if they and their low IQ, anti science culture can't remain as sole hegemonies.

I don't know if any of you younger people remember this. But my grand parents and others of their generation used to boil their water in batches, and bottled them in hot water flasks for drinking in the next day or two.

These are those made in China flasks with pretty flowery enamel pattern, and cork as the stopper. I remember a very old flask with strews wrapped around on the outside.
Parents to this day boil water. Have never drank cold water, let alone water with ice.

They control the narrative so of course they can say they won. Look how effective they have been in telling their people that they have handled the virus better than China.
Good to see the elitist Western oppressors are shatting on their panties. There's nothing "open" about the societies they have failed upon the common people through their mishandling of Covid-19 and face saving efforts by blaming it all on China.

Religions and cults tend to hate science and technology. Why? Because it makes people independent. Christians have the return to Eden fantasy. They want to go back to the good ole days where God took care of all his creatures in the the utopia of the Garden of Eden. Then Eve bit the apple... And they were cast out of the Garden of Eden to fend for themselves. Why do the Falun Gong believe aliens cursed humanity with science. Just like all religions they need their followers to only know their interpretation of reality. You can't have science teaching people to think for themselves. Technology makes people independent. They like people who can't think for themselves because how can the leader of this religion or cult tell people how to live their life. Who hates science and intellectualism in the US? They're the very same people who believe COVID-19 is fake and don't wear a mask and reject the "experts."

Ironically, the West likes to think of themselves as free thinking independent types, especially the rightoids who believe that COVID is a hoax but over a gorillion Chinese died from the virus and China Lied, People Died.

The Return to Eden fantasy is effectively what jordan peterson calls a 'peter pan'-ing of the western culture; you don't have to think for yourself or do anything to fight COVID if you believe there's an invisible pink unicorn who's going to make everything all better. And there is a correlation between Christian fundamentalists and anti China racists, especially given the high numbers of mormons in the CIA and christian fundamentalists in military/security services of the Five Eyes.

Anyway, not wanting to go off topic, so here's timely analysis by Bhadrakumar, a former indian diplomat to Russia, on the China-EU investment deal:

Key quotes:
The bottom line is that on the one hand, in contrast to the Trump presidency, Biden’s administration is expected to work alongside allies such as the EU to manage relations with China, while on the other hand, the EU and China have rushed to get a deal done. Of course, this is not a deal against America, but the fact remains that a China-EU alignment makes nonsense of the single most potent weapon in the US armoury, namely, the ever-looming threat of sanctions against an adversary.

It can only mean the end of US hegemony in the Asia-Pacific and in the western hemisphere.
Where does that leave Quad? Alas, India punched far above its weight and the outcome is predictable. Fortunately, India is not in the

. Beijing remains keen on rebooting cooperation with India. But India needs to jettison its delusional thinking and assess realistically the emergent directions of the reshaping of the world order.
