You are forgetting that the US is run by political fundamentalists that are hardcore ideologically driven to a very large extent. The Neocon/Neolib US will rather drag the world to ruins than admit defeat, even if the heavens were to open up and show them a sign that the game (US imperialism/US aggression) is up.

I swear that Pompeo is a massive liability to the survival to these tech firms and countries that otherwise wouldnt mind trading with China I mean come on, the worse that China would do to you is not trade with you, not bomb you like the USA does since so many trolls often miss out on this tidbit. If someone offs that idiot, I can’t see that many people would mourn him and heck they would use this as a chance to get back into China’s good graces if he is gone.

Doesn't make sense, nor is it consistent to a free market environment which they espouse to believe in.

If anything, this is an indication that 1.4 billion Chinese should be able to dominate all tech in the future.

I think they realize this, so they're trying to take TSMC's knowledge for intel and abandon Taiwan and go full genocide on Chinese of all kinds.
