And a note to Xi. The US has been harassing China left and right. China or to be more accurately Xi has been not fighting back. Very weak. We had 40 year of hard growth under our belt and have ways to retalitate but Xi is not doing much only a policy of appeassement. Only talk of appeassement and since a week more appeassement in the form of one sided concessions with the 'deal' (unequal treaty). I hope he changes his ways and doesn't give more concessions because the US will be back with demands and hostility until it has kneecapped China.

Thanks for your kind note. If you want to see yelling and media fights in order to demonstrate strength, then get a North Korean passport. China is about silent results: GDP expansion, military development, technological innovation and ultimate overtake of the world's number one spot. They will undoubtedly come back again and again, and my job is to convince them every time that they got what they needed but after a year or two passes, leave them wondering why they don't seem any better off than before and still just cannot stop China from out-growing them on all fronts. If you've got the skills to contribute to your country, that'd be great. If not, then the patience to watch the success story live before your eyes is acceptable too. But we don't need know-nothing red-faced loudmouths doing the CIA's work by fomenting disunity between the Chinese people and it's government and we're not going to do anything to make these kinds of people happy either.

As I outlined before, making large one off purchase is not a concession, since China pays for it with American dollars, which needs to be all removed in order to confront America more widely.
If China moved ahead with full pressure right now, it risks making America default on trillions of debt. Ofc China could seize American assets in return, but that would be being forced to play a trump card just to equalise.
In order to decouple, not just 200 billion $ but all of the American dollars in China need to be converted into goods, infrastructure and whatever.
I think you don't understand Chinese way of life, you are a typical US boxer that needs to fight back everything , and lack of good strategy.

He tought appeassement would make US stop. He has even accepted US sanctions on Nkorea hoping US will stop harassing china. Appeassement for the sake of appeassement is not a strategy. Overall china foreign policy is weak and don't seem to have a very clear objective. Over reacting so quickly to low level challenge but not reacting to true challenge.

North Korean Juche is all about the Kim family. They'll do anything for preserving the Juche. And China wants a denuclearized North Korea as much as South Korea or Japan.
Take the map of Bohai Sea. (It is similar to the Gulf of Mexico, strategically or otherwise). Notice the country that borders it besides China - That is North Korea.
It is against China's national interest to have any other country (foe or friend) pose hurdles for unchallenged utilization of that sea for China. Ideally, China ought to have the North Korean shore of Bohai Sea secured so that the entire Bay is up for China's free unchallenged liberal use. A prosperous North Korea that could raise its voice in International forum will one day clash with China over its use of Bohai Sea.
Not withstanding these very specific geography question ,
A nuclear North Korea is a bigger threat to China than a nuclear South Korea. The unstable politics of North Korea is the reason. As of right now, South Korea remains a better neighbour of China than North Korea.
