The flood control headquarters of Meizhou, Guangdong province, lowered the emergency response level from the top to the second highest at 11 am on Tuesday as river floods in the city continued to recede.

According to Meizhou Daily, floods resulting from torrential rains affected 30,165 people, tore down 108 houses in Meixian district alone, and damaged some farms, roads and bridges.

The 2024 World Intelligence Expo kicked off in North China's Tianjin on Thursday. The four-day expo aims to aggregate AI-related resources both nationwide and worldwide.

With an exhibition area of 100,000 square meters, the expo includes 10 themed exhibition areas covering the fields of AI, intelligent connected vehicles, intelligent manufacturing and robotics.

Enjoying and learning about numerous intangible cultural heritage items, including wood carving, opera and dough sculpture in just one venue, exceeded national lawmaker Liu Lili's expectations.

"Many other venues only focus on one kind of traditional cultural heritage. But to my surprise, in this building I found almost all local living heritages. I could also talk with inheritors and experience being a craftswoman doing paper cutting or carving on porcelain," said Liu, a deputy to the National People's Congress, China's top legislature.

She shared her experiences with China Daily while visiting the intangible cultural heritage exhibition hall in Heze, Shandong province, last month. Full story in the posted link!!
