Beijing welcomed the grand opening of Playa Maya water park on June 15, offering a vibrant blend of aquatic thrills, carnival festivities, and artistic showcases to the public. Beijing's Central Axis recently achieved UNESCO recognition, drawing widespread acclaim and fueling a flourishing culinary scene with nearly 10,000 dining establishments lining the historic stretch.



According to the online service platform Meituan, data reveals that searches for "Beijing Central Axis" surged by 58 percent year-on-year from January to July. In the first half of this year, consumption from visitors to Beijing contributed 10.5 percent to the capital's restaurant sector.

The 27th Chengdu Motor Show kicked off in Chengdu, Sichuan province, on Friday.

The 10-day exhibition focuses on three major kinds of automobiles, which are fuel-powered vehicles, new energy vehicles and plug-in hybrid vehicles.

Nearly 130 Chinese and foreign car companies made an appearance during the motor show, with more than 1,600 vehicles on display.

The 2024 Chinese Dough Figurine Art Exhibition is underway in Taiyuan, Shanxi province, showcasing over 300 works, including various-shaped steamed buns and dough figurines.

The exhibition, running through Sept 8, is part of the China Intangible Cultural Heritage Wheaten Food Carnival to promote the integration of intangible cultural heritage with tourism and pass down the skills of traditional wheaten food making.

The 2024 Gateway to Arts summer festival was brought to an end with a performance staged by the National Ballet of China at the Forbidden City Concert Hall in Beijing on Saturday.



Besides excerpts from classic and contemporary ballet works, such as Swan Lake, and Cinderella, the ballet dancers also presented excerpts from the fairy tale ballet, The Nine-Colored Deer, allowing children to fully experience the beauty and depth of ballet art.
