The National Barrier-Free Environment Exhibition Hall, showcasing the widespread adoption of accessible designs across society, including aboard high-speed trains and at banks, opened in Beijing on Wednesday.

After two years of preparation, it was unveiled to the public at the Beijing Planning Exhibition Hall just ahead of the anniversary of the China Accessibility Construction Law taking effect on Sept 1.

The China Association of Volunteers for Persons with Disabilities and Beijing Planning Exhibition Hall jointly launched the hall as a platform for patriotic education. The exhibition is also expected to raise public awareness about accessibility and demonstrate and promote relevant technologies.

Fifty years after excavations began at the Mawangdui Han Tombs, new technologies such as 5G, artificial intelligence and big data are bringing the ancient society to life and giving people a closer and more immersive interaction with history, archaeological experts said.

Initial excavations at the Mawangdui tombs in Hunan province took place between 1972 and 1974, and represent one of China's most significant archaeological discoveries of the 20th century.

The tombs contain the well-preserved remains of the Marquis Dai's wife, Lady Xin Zhui, who was buried more than 2,000 years ago during the Western Han Dynasty (206 BC-AD 24).

The tombs have offered up 26,937 artifacts so far, according to Hunan Museum in Changsha.

It's in your eyes, joints and skin, and even present in your tissue. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring fluid that has multiple functions in the human body and contributes to joint and skin health, healing and tissue hydration.

An adult human, on average, only has around 15 to 20 grams of this disaccharide polymer, known for its ability to bind water many times its weight. However, the concentration of HA decreases as a person ages and can lead to health problems such as knee pain, wrinkles and eye diseases.

Since 1934, when researchers Karl Meyer and John Palmer of Columbia University in the United States extracted the acid from cows' eyeballs, scientists around the world have been exploring ways to create products containing HA to benefit people's health.

Applications of the substance have also expanded beyond medical use, to beauty products and daily use items such as hand sanitizers and some foods.
