BEIJING, Dec. 1 (Xinhua) -- Wang Qishan, chief of the discipline watchdog of the Communist Party of China (CPC), pledged Thursday stricter Party supervision to consolidate the foundation of governance in the country.
"The people's support is the political foundation for a party ruling a country," said Wang, head of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, when meeting former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger in Beijing.
Briefing Kissinger on the sixth plenary session of the 18th CPC Central Committee, Wang stressed the significance of strict political discipline and rule in the Party, as well as innovation to advance strict Party governance.
