Different from other attractions, Tibet is a magical land. Its incomparable charm is perhaps derived from historical myth which has created an unique sense of mystery. Its beautiful natural scenery, religious spirit, unique nationality customs, traditional culture attract tourists from all over the world. But its difficult geographical environment and extremely high altitude make the journey to Tibet not so easy.

Samy Elkamhawy, a reporter with Egyptian Al-Ahram Newspaper, made this journey in mid-July. The picture shows a panoramic image of Lhasa, the Tibet Autonomous Region. (Photographer: Samy Elkamhawy)

The seasonal migration of the Kazak nationality: prairie nomadism

Praire nomadism is a kind of culture which occupies an important position in Chinese culture. Habahe County in Xinjiang is warm in winter and cool in summer, which has always been favored by the nomads. Local Kazak herdsmen have lived a nomadic life until today. The quarterly migration of the Kazak nationality is particularly spectacular. With the change of seasons, Kazak herdsmen carrying their children and relatives by horse, with camels and the drove migrate to wherever water and grass are available. Horses become an indispensable part of Kazak's life. As time passes, the Kazak nationality has been reputed for "people on horseback". (Photo/people.cn)

13-Aug-2015. The Guangzhou Yuan (Copper Coin) Building. The 33-story building is 138 meters high and has a total area of 105,000 square meters. The structure, 146.6 meters in diameter, is said to be the world’s largest round piece of architecture. It’s inspired by the Gong, a traditional musical percussion instrument, and ancient jade discovered in Guangzhou.
