I had to know where that chimney fell. From the angle I was sure that it was going to fall on the adjacent structure. But as seen from a different angle it misses the building and lands in an open area.

Excuse the diversion, but could not, not know.

Thank Popeye! I'm going to see if I can find a videos of the demolision on You Tube. The sound of that falling must be amazing!

Thanks! Looks like that they engineers of this demolition just missed that building next door. I could be wrong. Any way you slice it it was a close call!

Way to close if you ask me that should have been a proper implosion instead they dropped it in the direction of the next building! I would pull there ticket.

For anyone to do that, there is only one explanation: they intend to trash the blue building as well. So they don't care if the chimney fell onto it. If you look closely, the blue buildings are already kind of run down. The small blue building on the bottom of the pic doesn't even have a roof. I think it was their intention all along to push the chimney in the direction of the blue buildings.

Still Pretty Reckless as If your theory is Accurate, One the blue buildings could be structurally compromised in a manor making it unsafe for farther demolitions. the Charges have to be placed by people entering the structure. if the building could fall at any moment or partially collapse in a uncontrolled manor then the whole point of the explosive demolition is a waste.
two the whole point of explosive demolitions is to control the damage and fall out. That's Why it's used in Urban area's because of worry of the structure falling on other structures. Now if they intended to wrecking ball the Blue building then doing it with the stack is frankly more frightening.
It's like Your dentist pulling a cavity and then braking the one next to if because he's going to do it next week.
