The 2014 Beijing International Long-distance Running Festival kicked off at Tiananmen Square on April 20, 2014. The festival features three different events: the Puma 10-kilometer Run, the 5-kilometer Amway Nutrilite Mini Run and the Tiny Run for families. As usual, a total of 20,000 participants from home and abroad, both professionals and amateurs, showed up at the race. The annual festival, evolved from the Beijing Spring Run in 1956, is one of the most important sports activities in the city.
