Gotta keep the streets safe from those jaywalking old geezers!

Joking aside, at that age, the old man may have started having dementia and the associated behavior problem. Police training school may not teach them how to deal with old people with such a problem. They just have to use their good sense in this case, which they didn't.

About 10 years ago here in Cedar Rapids there was a case where an older man was stopped for suspicion of being impaired while driving. . What the real problem was that the man is suffering from a low blood sugar count because he'd not eaten. And.. he's an diabetic... so he was arrested and jailed. He went to jail and started to recover as soon as he was given something to eat.

Believe it or not he had to go to criminal court to prove his case. He was acquitted. Later he sued the Cedar Rapids Police and won the case. a settlement was reached out of court.

I do like how the "gun" isn't, and the one shaped like a phaser has a name that rhymes with it.

Let's start a movement to swap these names. :p .

That's because taser was not initially an actual word but was derived from an acronym. TASER = Tom A. Swift Electric Rifle.
Yes I have a bunch of useless knowledge in my noggin.
