I don't know how such situations are handled in China.

In the US all states have a Department of Human Services. Many states have Child protective services also. All that you mention is taken care of in the US by the agency's I mentioned.

Hmm do they not sell suntan lotion in China? Wearing face mask to the beach is kinda silly but then again it could be culturally acceptable so to each his own I guess.

I guess the same could be said with all the umbrellas there LOL

I think it's goofy looking, but I guess some people would do anything to protect their fair skin without the hassle and messiness of putting on suntan lotion. Another advantage with the mask on you can behave differently without anyone noticing you.:p

Goodness gracious where are the cops?

In land grabs and forced demolitions the local cops are always on the developer's side or turn a blind eye. Such is life in China. This type of incident is only much too common, though these guys are particularly elaborate what with the dadao and everything. 这种看多了。 官商勾结中利用的行匪工具,警察管得着吗?

SAN FRANCISCO —

Two Chinese teenagers on a school trip to the United States were identified early Sunday as the victims killed in the crash of an Asiana Airlines 777 at San Francisco International Airport.

Chinese state media said Ye Mengyuan and Wang Linjia, students at Jiangshan Middle School in eastern China, had died in the Saturday morning crash. The teenagers' bodies were found outside the wreckage, authorities said.

The two 16-year-olds were part of a group of 29 students and five teachers who had set off on the trip from the highly competitive school in Zhejiang, an affluent coastal province.

Meanwhile, federal officials said the flight recorders had been recovered from the charred wreckage of the plane and were on their way to Washington for analysis.

Of the 306 aboard the plane, 182 were taken to hospitals, many with minor injuries, authorities said. Forty-nine people were reported to be in critical condition, San Francisco International Airport spokesman Doug Yakel said.
