It does look kinda weird.

Having said that the Eiffel tower had its detractors when it was built, yet 120yrs later it is still a major draw card for tourists etc.
An architectural student told me the other day that his design tutour said that if a building wins an award, then functionally "its a dog". I wonder how this building will turn out.

The building does look like pants, don't like the look of it.

I like it. At least it doesn't have to worry too much about wind load or shear forces acting upon it too much (due to the large opening). It also doesn't cast too big of a solid overcast shadow upon the other smaller buildings.

KFC buckets are put at the entrance of a KFC restaurant by a customer to protest its worker's irregularities during food production in Hankou city, Central China's Hubei province, Sept 4, 2012.

Mr Yang, 30, brought 22 sets of take-out KFC buckets and put them at the entrance of the restaurant in Hankou, Hubei province, on Tuesday.

The man said he has saw the chef of the restaurant making food without wearing gloves, hat and mask as KFC regulations state. Yang refused to eat the food and requested 20 sets of buckets as compensation, but the restaurant's manager refused.

Yang then tried to buy 2,000 family buckets after he didn't get any response from the restaurant and KFC customer hotline, but the KFC restaurant refused to sell the other sets to Yang.

YUM! Restaurants (China) Investment Company Limited, KFC's parent company, responded late Tuesday night, saying they discipline the workers and appreciate Yang's supervision.[Photo/CFP]
