500 aircraft isn’t really that many aircraft in the grand scheme of Chinese needs over the next two decades.

China needs thousands of aircraft for their domestic market if demand rises as expected.

At current production rates, it would take Boeing quite some time to deliver those aircraft.

I am not sure the 500 aircraft would be as big of a deal as it may seem at first glance.

Why should China import US aircraft when the US is not buying Chinese products? Let alone Boeing deathtraps.
Lol which other choice does China have? Its not like theres another player out there. Ajrbus has a defacto monopoly in China now, so its not a good situation. Good to diversify and vain from both sides until COMAC/China is self sufficient in building jer own domestic airliners indpendently in large numbers or with parts from friendly countries, which is far from being the case

Isn't C919 right on the verge of mass production? I thought domestic engine will be ready in 2026-2027. Anyhow I'm pretty sure Boeing's backlog of orders would mean even if the order goes through it'll still take a few years for delivery.

Three nice images of AC332 emergency rescue variant, with a good look at the rear compartment closed by clamshell doors.
