Great work! I have read it that is quite a few pages long

Look forward to the July issue it will probably be out around 5th-6th July at WH Smith

Thanks !! ... by the way I just got the cover and even if I'm a bit surprised by the title "Chinese Air Power" I think/hope that they did not change too much of the report, which was more an "Chinese Aviation Industry report 2012 - the year of the dragon !"

A true "Chinese Air Power"-report covering the PLANAF-Orbat and a bit later the PLAAF-Orbat is also planned.

Good going, the last time we had a big article in AFM was 2011 the Flanker report, remember I scanned that in and posted it in the Flanker thread after that we had a big summary of the J10 last year, usually we get some of these big Chinese aviation articles at least once or twice a year, then the latest one was a orbat of Chinese aviation with all the air bases etc

The last time JF-17 had a 7 pages article in July 2011 in AFM, very good but some mistakes and inconsistencys, Like when they said only 20 Thunder had been built at PAC while we seen 11-130 at the Dubai air show?? I think another JF17 update will appear soon but only after the Block II emerges and it's system details, if you ever do a JF-17 report do let me know we can share information for it

It's good to see more and more exposure of Chinese aviation appear in these magazines even better when someone from the forum is doing it!

Thanks for Your offer ... would be a nice idea indeed !

Yes, these magazines do show indeed a rising interest in CHinese things and if I remember correctly there were actually even a few more; especilly Bai Wei's PLANAF Orbat-report in the AFM last yeas (to admit I still don't understand why he did not the PLAAF-Orbat report, which was not that good IMO).

Regarding anything else I did the Liaoning report in the CAM at the beginning that year and a report covering the Y-8 special mission types I think two months ago ... in August my Y-20 analysis will follow and an PLANAF-Orbat report is already done (but I think the publisher want a braek after so much Chinese stuff) to be publsihed alter that year. Finally I hope to get a huge PLAAF-report done until year's end and that's it for 2013.

By the way since I'm again leaving for the next four days with the family for a short vacation, I think we can expect another mayor unveiling - maybe J-20 '2003' or the Z-20 or ??? - since each time I was away during the last months we had the Y-20 unveiling, the J-31, the Sharp Sword ....

So stay tuned and save these images for me,

I will treat this kind of news with skceptisim first until confirmation from COMAC. Since the source never even quote any of the names.

Delay on C919 is a open secret.
no one expects the current schedule (or revised one for that matter) to hold.

Updates on C919 and larger CS series Chinese aircraft

Commonality between C919 and Cseries is a complete no go.

the systems on C919 is in advances stage of design (they just finished a bunch of PDRs)

there is no way cockpit and electrical system can be changed like this with some signing of agreements. this would put the current (delayed) schedule into even further shambles.

Not even the suppliers are the same, C919 and Cseries uses two different set of major suppliers!
