amazing thanks I hope it remains updated

Urumqi had one delivered in May 2019 B-001Z and to date over 30 have been delivered

they delivered around 15 units in 2019

they should aim for over 20 this year virus however will effect

they need to be doing 50 or 60 units per year

Thanks, "B-001Z"-type nomenclature I believe are temporary test registration code and is not yet fully compliant for CAAC registration and certification. Hence, not ready for commercial operation yet,

At Twitter slme say its part of the J-35

I did some digging and apparently it's from SAC's WeChat account. Someone on the internet did a comparison with the J-20's parachute bay cover and it is almost an exact match.

Maybe this is SAC's contribution to the J-20 project.

Also, if the earlier eyewitness rumors about the J-35 are true, then it is unlikely that this is related to the J-35.

Indeed and that was also my first thought ... looks IMO identically from what we see.

It may be the cover, but it's certainly not identical to above image of j20. The mystery cover has 4 big sawteeth, while the one on J-20 image above has 8 small sawteeth. Providing we're looking at the same end. if could, of course be that the other end of the J20's cover does have only 4 big sawteeth. One could also argue that the mystery cover has a more pronounced curve, but that's harder to prove.

Edit: the above image of J20 doesn't feature the same j20 that many other recent j20 images do. It seems there was a redesing of the teeth at some point. (the above image could be of the prototype?). Anyway, on more recent images the chute cover does seem to have four teeth on both ends.

Well ... spot on! thanks a lot. And indeed it seems that part was redesigned from the demonstrators (shown above) to the serial ones.
Unfortunately I wasn't able to find a (or at least not many) clear image of the current design...
