Most interesting are these two pods which combined targeting/FLIR with IRST functions

hmmwv was kind enough to translate:
It states the two pods are designed to be used together but can still function on their own. One has medium wave IRST + look up IR searching/MAW, the other has long wave IRST + look down IR searching/MAW.

The pod is comprised of the following four compartments.

1. Munition guidance, search, tracking, recon, target illumination.
2. MAWS, long range panoramic IR searching, battlefield situation awareness.
3. Pod management, processing, self test, image/data recording, threat analysis, firing solution calculation, interface, inertial guidance, air data computer, altimeter, battery, formation datalink.
4. Climate control, two way datalink.

It's designed to upgrade an aircraft to a multirole platform with this all in one electroptical sensor package, allowing the aircraft to search, track, and guide munition. Also gives the aircraft an all weather navigation, taking off/landing capabilities, MAWS, datalink, and enhanced situation awareness. I see the perfect candidate to receive this system is PLAAF J11As and JH7A/Bs.

What's the exact payload of this? It says "it can take on 12 metric tons of water from a lake or sea within 20 seconds and pour it on the fire", but is that the maximum payload?
Also it sounds incredible to suck up 12 metric tons of water in just 20 seconds!

The last mintue of this video will show you how Fire fighting airplane work. The plane fly into the river or lake and scope up the water with speed, 20 seconds is more than enough to fill the tanks in the airplane.

Okay, prepare yourselves...

So, at the interactive display, one can even "leave" the A-Star room and click on the table to see three "booklets" showing their products with a lot of technical info.

There's literally over a hundred pages of pics that I just downloaded and I'm uploading to imgur as albums. I can't understand the details, but by now I'm pretty convinced that the products of Beijing A-Star at the display are not made up.. and they offer a lot of products, from IRST for aircraft, to targeting pods, to EO balls, to engines, to DAS type apertures, to recon pods, to radar seekers and more...

There are three albums, I'll post a selection of images from each, the links for each album is below. I have to say, this is the kind of open source info we'd expect from a western defence expo.

what's a bit weird is that a few of their systems (such as the DAS and the 3D imaging pod) seem to be the same as those offered by a US company called wehrli and associates... i'm not sure if those systems are Beijing A-Star's repackaging of wehrli's products, or what.
The other products of A-Star seem to be self developed without the logos of other companies.
