anyway? How does it work? Do they need a third party wit some kind of laser designator
device?
HJ-10 mainly have two kinds of warheads: multipurpose warhead mainly for anti-armor, penetration warhead for anti-fortifications. HJ-10A/B/C/D are the different combinations of different guided systems, warheads and fuzes, HJ-10B is a variant with both proximity and impact fuse with a multipurpose warhead, which have preformed fragments.
laser proximity fuze is actually similar to the millimeter wave proximity fuze, which determines the distance by measuring the reflection time of the laser echo. Fuse are built-in and do not require irradiation by other laser designator. FN-16 manpad, AGM-88 HARM, Israeli Harpy/Chinese ASN-301 all use laser proximity fuze
