Probably a weight that shifts to simulate the missile being launched from the tube.HJ-12 ATGM. It doesn't appear to have a live missile in the tube but some kind of simulation round.
I mentioned on reddit too but I think this might mean China is adopting the Carl Gustav like RR soon. I'm blanking out on the name though.Supposedly image of HJ-18 lightweight ATGM from Reddit
Kinda like Raytheon's
- It is a low-profile missile, its weight is less than 10KG, its length is less than 1 meter, and its missile diameter is less than 90mm.
- It has range of 150m-1500m
- It is using the infra-tracker SACLOS guidance system, just like the TOW. Although it will transmit the adjusting command to launched missile via radio instead of wires.
- This ATGM doesn't need specific crews to operate. It could be delivered to any frontline soldiers as needed, like regular disposable rocket launchers (AT4, RPG-22, LAW etc)
- It could be used against various types of targets, including light-armor units/enemy fire position/light fortifications/personnel.
Could this have been inspired by Russian use of kornet for anti-personnel purpose? I also recall similar usage by Hezbollah. Turns out affordable, good range, high accuracy goes with anything. Comapred to other exotic ATGM China is making, this one is clearly cheapening out on purpose. I feel like this is like a 21st century equivalent of recoiless rifle such as SPG-9.Supposedly image of HJ-18 lightweight ATGM from Reddit

Probably not. It would be one of many similar projects of this kindCould this have been inspired by Russian use of kornet for anti-personnel purpose? I also recall similar usage by Hezbollah. Note: the manual emphasized low logistical burden, light, affordable. Targets are mainly light vehicle, fire position, personnel.
