Empty weight for basic model of il76 is some 70 tons. There are further variants, heaviest of which weighs some 90 tons. 200 ton class statement clearly points to mtow, not empty weight. Il76 in its basic variant has little under 160 tons of mtow. Heaviest variant has around 190 tons. All those are powered by D30kp engines.
There is another variant, powered by ps90 engines, which weigs 100 tons emtpy and clocks in little under 210 tons of mtow.

I believe more or less they have faith in WS-10 engines and plus, it will be 100% home grown product.

Yeah the Il-76MF has a MTOW of 210 tonns and a payload of 60tons.

If we assume the large transport has a MTOW of slightly over 200 tons, then I think we're looking at a payload of around 60 tons. :china:

yes, 200ton is maximum take-off, IL-76 MTOW is 170ton, some model is 190ton, so they are no much defference, D30kp engine fits this new plane.

talk about China Large bypass ratio turbofan engine FWS10-118 verification machine, test rig has been under way on the ground. Can safely say that at present China's aviation industry has initially developed with a 150-ton large transport aircraft and power plant capacity.

A note, the large transport's weight will probably not be exactly 200tons, could be a bit lower or a bit higher. But I think the payload will be around 60 tons. Ish.

so when they are talkin about making publicity, are they talkin about the maiden flight? or is the testing stage already underway, its confusing cuz if the aircraft already started test flights there should have been some rumours about it.
