It appears the Yutu-2 rover has finally stopped moving, having travelled a total distance of 1,613 meters. The rover is otherwise functional, having been operating for more than six years, which far exceeds her original design life of three months. Yutu-2 is now the longest lived lunar rover in history.

More detailed information on the manned lunar rover project. After two rounds of expert assessment of various submitted proposals, two designs have been chosen for prototype development. One is being developed by Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology (SAST) and the other by a subsidiary of CASC. The two prototypes will be pitted again each other, and the winner will be sent to the moon. China Manned Space Agency is now soliciting the public for names for the manned rover.

More detailed images of one of the two finalists of the manned lunar rover project. It was designed with assistance from Shanghai Jiaotong University.
