The next generation Beidou satellite navigation constellation will be completed around 2035. The development of key technologies will be finished in 2025, and three test satellites will be launched around 2027. The first satellites of the constellation will be launched beginning in 2029, and the constellation will be finished in 2035.

wowww, the gap between China and USA will be widen, current Beidou is vastly superior to the current GPS. I believe that this next generation Beidou will be fully operational than GPS Block IIIF which last launch is expected in 2024 (and delays are highly likely)

Do you have any hints of what are the improvements of this next generation Beidou to the current one?

Just taking a guess. Improved accuracy is a obvious improvement. Although it's already so accurate that all the low hanging fruit has been plucked and further improvements will see diminishing returns at higher and higher costs.

I think the real focus here will be improvement on countering jamming and spoofing. A certain recent war has given everybody a lot of real life data in that area.

How about inside building and in the deep sea for submarine?

My guess is also to vastly improved 2 way communications for emergency and military

Any hints of what type of atomic clock will be used?

Latest presentation slide on Long March 9. The fully re-usable version (CZ-9BR) will fly around 2033 to 2035.

A slide on the Chinese space station. Of interest, results from some 3,000 space experiments, such as the more nutritious space rice variety, are being applied and propagated. Some 17 countries have signed up to use the space station.

A slide on Long March 10 moon rocket. It's in prototyping stage. The 1st-stage power test and fairing separation test have already been completed. Of particular interest is the statement that Liu Yang, Wang Yaping, Wang Haoze (刘洋, 王亚平, 王浩泽) are the likely candidates to land on the moon.

There are some very fluffy words about the new system from report that I have seen. Two things seem to be concrete.

It provides decimeter level accuracy to ground and near earth orbits to all kind of users.

It will include LEO navigation satellites in addition to today's GEO/GGSO/MEO satellites.

“下一代北斗系统将优化星座架构,形成高中低轨混合星座,全面提升时空基准维持精度和自主运行能力,持续提升服务性能。”航天科技集团有限公司研究员、北斗卫星导航系统工程副总设计师谢军说。

In narrow sense Beidou as a GNSS can not do anything about it simply because signal is too weak inside building or under water.

My guess is also to vastly improved 2 way communications for emergency and military
New sat-to-sat communication device for next gen has been in space on board of Beidou-3 sats launched in September this year as key tech verification.

Any hints of what type of atomic clock will be used?
If I remember correctly, hydrogen clock was on board the September launch.

Here is a report on the September launch, dual frequency hydrogen atomic clock.

IMO very unusual for CASC to say the cadidates already now since it isn't their business to choose astronauts. Sounds like western infection of "diversity" and trying to impress someone. Men or Woman are equally capable to do the job, but making it a thing standing out by a "non of your business" entity is "eh".

A Lijian-1 has successfully launched 15 satellites –– Experiment 26A, B, and C; Jilin-1 High Resolution 05B; Platform 02A03; Yunyao-1 31 through 36; Xiguang-1 04 and 05; Oman's Intelligent Remote Sensing Satellite 1; and the Tianyan 24.

The Jilin-1 Gaofen (High Resolution) 05B satellite uses magnetic-anode Hall thrusters developed by the 801 Institute of CASIC. This is the first time this type of Hall thrusters have been used in real-world application. Compared to traditional Hall thrusters, magnetic-anode thrusters is smaller by 20% and lighter by 30% and has a wider output range.

(雷诗情) and Hong Jianwu (洪建武), and many of its current personnel have previously worked for China's manned space program. Interstellor is currently developing the CYZ-1 sub-orbital spacecraft that can carry seven passengers. The company aims to first launch the spacecraft (unmanned mode) in 2026, with the goal of commencing commercial operations by 2028. The ticket price is set at three million RMB, and the first customer signed up in November of 2023. Interstellor has signed a cooperation agreement with a certain unnamed launch provider to launch the CYZ-1 spacecraft.

The design of CYZ-1 sub-orbital manned spacecraft has passed expert review and the construction of a prototype (CYZ-1-00) will begin next month.
