A Lijian-1 has successfully launched 15 satellites –– Experiment 26A, B, and C; Jilin-1 High Resolution 05B; Platform 02A03; Yunyao-1 31 through 36; Xiguang-1 04 and 05; Oman's Intelligent Remote Sensing Satellite 1; and the Tianyan 24.
The new headquarters of China Satellite Network Corporation has been completed and officially handed over.
In addition to stainless propellant tanks, LightYear is also working on payload fairings. Seen here is a prototype fairing made of special heat-resistant plywood panels secured to a light-weight steel frame. It has a diameter of 1.6m and a height of 5m. According to LightYear, it's lighter and has better load bearing performance than traditional composite fairings, and it's much cheaper to produce.
, it intends to build a space tourism park where 10 reusable Lijian-3 launch vehicles will work in shifts to send tourists to space. Each spacecraft is capable of carrying seven passengers and features four large portholes for viewing.
Here's the completed stainless steel propellant tank fabricated using LightYear's proprietary bulge-forming process. It has a diameter of 3.8m, a length of 14.6m, a volume of 158 cubic meters, and a total weight of 3400kg. The wall thickness is as little as 1.52mm. It will be exhibited at this year's Zhuhai Airshow.
