No one ever heard of such 240t before Long's presentation though and don't make sense if you have a two-chamber 500t and one-chamber 240t in parallel development.I personally want YF-135 to be the one chosen for eventual CZ-9, but I think 240t is more like a sibling than a child to YF-130. I hope you are aware that I have said that it is possible that 240t is a parallel program to YF-130 and YF-135. If so 240t is not a split of YF-130 like RD-180 to RD-171. It is a big possibility, but I could be wrong too.
Thrust | Isp | |
YF-130H (Half) | 2,400kN | 308s |
YF-100K | 1,250kN | 302s |
There is no real motivation to specifically develop a YF-130H to meet a demand which doesn't exist. CASC can put 7 x YF-100N in their 5m diameter first stage with a 7.6m shroud to meet payload demand and being reusable. It is just like one doesn't buy iPhone 14 if one knows Apple will switch to Type-C one year later.
