The yellow circled part in the first image is where the gamma ray altimeter located. Because prolonged exposure to gamma rays is dangerous to ground personnel, the altimeter was quickly covered up by a radiation shield (2nd image).

Mr. Huang Zhen (黄震), deputy chief designer of the manned space technology of the 5th academy of CASC, said in an interview that China's manned lunar lander project is progressing well. Hundreds of iterations and related tests have been completed. Interestingly, he mentions that the thickness of the lander's hull/bulkhead (舱壁) is only 1mm.

Is it normal for the return capsule to be lying sideways ?
The main parachute is located on the side of the capsule, so the capsule is always tilted on the side even if it travels without any side way verlocity. In reality there is always side way verlocity. That makes it highly likely that at the moment of touching the ground the capsule will lay on side.

The first Pallas-1 rocket from the private launch provider Galactic Energy has rolled off the production line. It's expected to be launched in the second half of 2023. Pallas-1 is a reusable (50 times) LOX/Kerosene launch vehicle, with a length of 52m, diameter of 3.35m, and a takeoff mass of 257 tons.

(星河动力航天) –– the maker of Pallas-1 rocket –– is branching out to other areas. The company is currently developing a supersonic target missile named Jifeng-1 (疾风-1/Gale-1), which can simulate ultra-low-altitude penetration of supersonic cruise missiles. The company has just successfully completed its first verification flight.

近日,由星河动力航天自主研制的疾风-1超音速巡航靶标在西北某基地开展能力飞行验证,模拟某超音速巡航型号的超低空突防飞行,试验取得圆满成功。本次试验,疾风-1超音速巡航靶标实现了高精度的定高定向控制,飞行姿态稳定、数据链路正常,获取了全部试验数据,为后续在资阳基地的批产提供了宝贵的数据积累。此次试验进一步验证了疾风-1超音速巡航靶标具备在复杂气象条件及复杂电磁环境下的超低空飞行能力。
